Daisy

So here as a little treat Im posting the story version on Daisy. Daisy was an original idea and inital script by Sam Milletti and myself. But this is the written story mode version written by myself. When you get to the bottom of this page there is another little treat.

---------------------------------------------------------

Its a hot summers day as a young girl called Daisy is sat under a small tree in the garden playing with her dolls. She holds up the two dolls and faces them to each other and says “Do you want to come round for some tea?” She looks at the other doll “Yes I would love to thank you” She takes them both and starts to mimic a walking motion. She stops and looks around at the empty garden and sighs to herself putting her head in her hands. Daisy stands up and heads across the large garden to the house. Daisy approaches her mother’s bedroom with caution and waits a few seconds before knocking on the door. As she knocks she hears her mother’s voice call.
“Yes, Come in” her voice is cold and stern and Daisy opens the door slowly to her mother’s bedroom where she sits on he
r stool applying make-up. “What do you want?” she snaps as she continues to slap on some red lipstick.
“I'm bored, I want something to do. Will you play with me?” she asks carefully all the time looking at the floor.
“I'm busy, go and play with your dolls”
“I have its not as fun on my own” she wis
hes she hadn’t said anything and begs her mother will not shout at her. Luckily she doesn’t and she turns to her;
“Haven’t you made any friends yet? I know it’s hard when you move to a new place but you’ll have to learn to get to know people”
“The children at this school aren’t as nice as my old friends”
“Be a good girl go outside and play” her mother demands,
“Yes mother” she doesn’t disobey and walks out of the bedroom closing the door quietly and as she closes the door her mother yells out;
“Remember to stay in the garden”.

Daisy is laying in the garden on her back with
her does either side of her when she hears a noise, “Pssssst” She sits up and looks around the garden but can’t see anyone. Then she hears it again “Pssssst” the voice then calls to her “Do you want to come and play?” the sound of the voice is coming from the fence, glancing over to it she sees another young girl with matted hair just about looking over the fence. Her small hands hold on tight to the fence and she lowers every now and then. Daisy doesn’t respond and just stares at her. “I know somewhere much better to play than in this garden” still not responding she pushes “Wanna see? I can show you”.
“I really shouldn’t leave” She finally manages to get out.
“Fine your loss” the other girl says and begins to lower herself down. Daisy jumps up realise she could have someone to play with;
“Where would we go?” Mar pulls herself back up and smirks;
“I know somewhere really cool, But you’ll never know if you're going to act like a chicken” Daisy considers the offer and glances back to the house. The thought of someone to play with is too mu
ch for Daisy to refuse so she says.
“Well... if we are quick”. She looks back at the house before running over to the gate to join mar.

Daisy follows mar down to the local woods and finds the gap in the thickness and picks up a long twig. Swing
ing it back and forth she says to Daisy “You're new around here. I can tell” full of herself.
“How?”
“I know pretty much everyone who lives around these parts. I’m the kind of friend you need to have in a place like this. I know all the best hiding places” She snaps the twig in half and tosses it into the trees. Daisy follows the twig and realises how far they
have come into the forest.
“I'm not sure I want to go any further. Do you know the way back?” Mar realises that she may loose her new friend and quickly replies
“We’re nearly there. Me and my best friends Lila used to come down here all the time. Look...” She shows her a bracelet on her wrist that says Best Friends. “We have one each” The girls reach a wire fence and Mar looks out over the flat grass.
“What's that?” Daisy asks.

“Thats the cool place I was telling you about. Follow me, I know a secret way around” She runs off to the right and Daisy follows closely behind.

They climb through a hole in the fence and after a while they reach a line of hedges where Mar finds another gap and which leads them to an abandoned garden. “Isn’t this cool?” Mar says without t
aking her eyes off the garden, but Daisy doesn’t look too convinced. “Come on there’s a really cool swing over here. She rushes over to an old rusty swing and starts swinging on it. Daisy looks around cautiously before entering. She looks up at the old house and asks;
“Doesn’t someone live here?” Mar grins
“Yeah a witch” Daisy looks petrified and shouts back in panic
“A witch?” Mar starts laughing;
“You're so gullible” Daisy looks down at the ground ashamed of being tricked and then goes back to looking at the flowers. After a while of being in the garden the wind begins to pick up. Mar hears the faint sound of children laughing and stops swinging on the swing and digs her feet into the grass. She hears the sound again and loo
ks around the garden. Daisy holds onto a flower in her hands and snips it. Suddenly mar grabs the back of her and makes Daisy jump.
“You scared me!” Mar begins to pace across the garden pulling Daisy with her;
“We need to go” Daisy sees the panic in her face.
“Why? I thought we were having fun?” Daisy pulls her hand free and stands still and Mar stops and grabs hold of her hand
again but in the garden the swing begins to swing and the noise begins to pick up. The wind chimes in the garden get louder as does the noise of children’s laughter and the girls look at each other and begin to run. The girls begin to head back the way they came with Mar leading the way but as they go to escape through the hedge Daisy trips and falls down. Mar glances back at Daisy but turns and keeps on running. Daisy raises her head to see a young girl who isn’t Mar stood infront of her.
“Are you okay?” the strange girl asks “Are you lost?” Daisy nods and the strange girl smiles “here take my hand and I’
ll show you the way home” The girl stretches out her hand towards Daisy and she notices on her wrist is the same bracelet Mar had and reads Best Friend.

Mar rushes through the woods and slides under a log. She takes a few moments to rest as she feels her heart beating quickly.Then after a few more moments she peers up over the log, petrified. Her eyes scan the trees yet there is no sign of Daisy. A twig snaps behind Mar and she turns around but nothing is there. Then she hears the sound of the children’s laughter. At the sound of this she stands up and begins to run. She rushes in any direction pushing through the branches trying to escape. But after a while everything seems the same and becomes a blur as she trips over a log landing on her front. As she raises her head she sees a strange girl in front of her who extends her hand and on her wrist holds the bracelet Best Friends. Mar stares at the hand as she says to her “Take my hand and I’ll show you the way home”

THE END

---------------------------------------------------------

So that was Daisy in its story mode however some of you may know or might have already watched Daisy on youtube. Daisy was turned into a film and we couldn't have been prouder of it. The film ended up getting into a total of four film festivals and in one of those managed to win the best film award which means that Daisy is an award winning film. Sam and myself were are so proud of how Daisy turned out and all the effort the cast and crew put into it. If you want to watch the film click the poster that was used to advertise Daisy or click here.
